Yes, yes, it’s been one of those weeks. Sick kids who passed their petri dish viruses on to me. A kids’ sports schedule with no relief in sight. And, of course, the end-of-the-school-year festivities. All of which have combined to render me almost useless for any kind of productive activity.
So, while I don’t have anything new here on La Pomme, I do have a new little diddy I wrote up over on 1859 Oregon’s Magazine about my experience as an Iron Chef judge for which I was completely unprepared.
If the moment moves you, you can check it out here.
Hope you all have a fabulous holiday weekend!! Between the unending stream of Lacrosse games, I plan to plant myself in a zero gravity chair with a good book (currently reading Wild by Cheryl Strayed,) and a nice glass of Pinot Gris. xo Carrie

How is it that these things happen and I don’t know about them? Those sick kiddos are interfering with our communication channels! Love that you were an Iron Chef judge! Nice going!
Thanks, sis!!
We all have those kind of weeks….don’t let it get you down. I went to see Cheryl at Powell’s when she launched Wild – it is a good read, a very nice way to spend part of your weekend. One of my book club groups is contemplating doing the last leg of her journey later in the summer.
I understand Reese Witherspoon purchased the rights to the book & wants to play Cheryl in the movie.
Kathleen, I can’t wait to hear if your book club does indeed hike the last leg of her journey. Keep me posted!!
